Our Story: The Journey of Brunter Saxon Plus

2012 – Humble Beginnings
Brunter Saxon Plus was founded in a small co-working space in Amsterdam by two university friends, Marieke Brunter and Hans Saxon, who shared a vision of making powerful business software accessible to growing teams. With just a laptop, a whiteboard, and endless pots of coffee, they sketched the first module: a lightweight user-management system designed for startups tired of clunky legacy platforms.

2013 – First Milestone: The Beta Launch
After a year of evenings and weekends coding, the first beta of “Brunter Saxon Core” went live. Early adopters included three local startups, each providing invaluable feedback. Those first users shaped the product’s DNA: simplicity, reliability, and an API-first architecture.

2014–2016 – Expansion & Feature Growth
Building on beta success, Brunter Saxon Plus officially launched its full 1.0 suite in mid-2014. Over the next two years, the team rolled out:

  • Reporting Dashboard: Real-time analytics and exportable CSVs.

  • Basic API Endpoints: Enabling integrations with CRMs.

  • Mobile Companion App: A light iOS build for on-the-go access.

By the end of 2016, Brunter Saxon Plus had crossed 500 paying customers across Europe and North America.

2017 – Venture Investment & Scaling Up
To accelerate growth, Brunter Saxon Plus closed a €2 million seed round led by NorthSea Ventures. This investment funded:

  • Opening a second office in Berlin.

  • Hiring dedicated support and customer-success teams.

  • Launching localized versions in German and French.

2018–2019 – Advanced Analytics & Integrations
Customer demand for deeper insights spurred the release of:

  • Custom Dashboards: Drag-and-drop widgets, scheduled email reports.

  • Prebuilt Integrations: Salesforce, HubSpot, Shopify, and more.

  • Enhanced Security: Two-factor authentication and SOC 2 compliance.

These enhancements propelled annual recurring revenue past €5 million by late 2019.

2020 – Navigating the Pandemic
When COVID-19 disrupted businesses worldwide, Brunter Saxon Plus pivoted:

  • Accelerated work-from-home features, including virtual team-collaboration tools.

  • Rolled out a “help package” granting 3 months of free service to non-profits and healthcare startups.

  • Hosted 50+ free webinars on business continuity software best practices.

2021–2022 – Expert Tier & Private Cloud
Building on enterprise inquiries, the Expert Service tier launched in early 2021, offering:

  • Full platform customization and private-cloud deployment.

  • Dedicated account teams and onsite workshops (virtual, until travel resumed).

  • Advanced compliance modules (GDPR, HIPAA).

Meanwhile, R&D kicked off a next-gen UI rewrite, setting the stage for our most ambitious release yet.

2023 – Brunter Saxon Plus 5.0 Release
After 18 months of intensive development, version 5.0 debuted with:

  • A completely redesigned, responsive interface.

  • AI-driven insights engine for forecasting revenue trends.

  • Low-code workflow builder for non-technical users.

The launch was celebrated with a 5-city European tour, connecting with 2,000+ customers and prospects.

2024 – Looking Ahead
Today, Brunter Saxon Plus powers over 3,000 businesses in 25 countries. Our team of 120+ is united by a single mission: empowering teams of every size with elegant, reliable software.
